I’ve just got back from Sydney. It was great to see everyone and to hear what’s going on up there.
We had a lunch with people involved in overseeing shared worship in their churches. It was so valuable to get together, and really refreshing.
We also had a brekky with anyone from the Vineyard churches who are interested or involved in worship. Again, a great time together and as a group, they have decided to do that semi-regularly through out the year. Personally, it was wonderful to hear the reasons why this bunch of people valued getting together.
They wanted to (in no particular order):
1. maintain the Vineyard values of being a relational community;
2. meet to encourage and to be encouraged;
3. to be part of the interactive relationship with the Lord, and see what His agenda was each time rather than structuring too much (do what the Father is doing), worship together etc.
4. share the practicalities of being involved in the activity of worship (resources, songs, equipment or whatever the current issues were etc).
5. and of course, EAT together!
Very cool to see that happening.
Here’s Cathy Hawkes- she pulled together the Sydney brekky this weekend at Northridge VCF.
Great job Cathy and … three cheers for that lovely venue!
Good to see the site Di. Look forward to seeing what you will be posting!
Thanks Christina – and love your newlook site as well!
