She: Rob Bell’s new video

I’m sure most of you have checked this out already.

Rob Bell has a new Nooma video out, called ‘She’. For a short time you can see the preview on facebook here.

It’s all about female nature of God, and the role of women.
The video has an introduction…

“We didn’t have anything to do with our birth. We are all here because some woman somewhere gave us life. Her pain, her effort, for our life. And when a mother gives like that to a child, she is showing us what God is like. But sometimes this part of God’s nature is overlooked. A lot of us are comfortable with male imagery for God. But what about female imagery for God? Is God limited to a gender? Or does God transcend and yet include what we know as male and female? Maybe if we were more aware of the feminine imagery for God we would have a better understanding of who God is and what God is like.”

Resources Galore

For those of you who haven’t seen or received it, the Cutting Edge magazine has a focus on Worship in their Spring 2006 edition. It’s available here for download. Cutting Edge is the Vineyard USA church planting magazine.

Also Dan Wilt has been collating more resources as part of ICEWS. I know I keep pointing you all there, but they are doing such a great thing at the ICEWS. Even though we are so far away, I don’t want anyone to miss out on all that they are offering as it’s a rich feast. They have such generosity of spirit in sharing such riches.

A Resource Suggestion from Mark

Mark from Penninsula Vineyard has sent through a resource tool he thinks is worth mentioning called SermonSpice.

He said it’s a good site for short videos to use in church services or for youth etc.
You have to buy the video clips but you can preview all of them online.

Back To Our Roots DVD by Carol Wimber

I’ve been hearing that the DVD, Back To Our Roots, Stories of the Vineyard has really impacted those who have seen it. On it, Carol Wimber says, “We were not the young, triumphant, successful lChristians. We were a bunch of burnt out elders and teachers. We were a bunch of broken people. So began the Vineyard…”

I’m trying to track down a copy, but in the meantime, have you seen it already? What’s it like?

Song Query?

Often people email asking where to find a particular song – chart, audio, lyric, etc etc.

Sometimes the request comes with an urgency ( When do you need it? Oh, I need it now!) and often with an unknown quantity (Do you know the title? Or maybe the songwriter or publisher? No, but it has the word glory in it.)

So, there are a wealth of search engines are around for such an occasion. Here’s a great one to start.  Songquery.com  This is a comprehensive Christian music search engine that includes an array of categories/labels and genres.

Let me know if you have others that you find really helpful.
